Well as the topic says it folks, I am now an official Who-lagin. Thanks to netflix, I'm watching one of the older seasons which has sparked my attention immensely.

I have been a who fan since the late 70's... Started with the latter Pertwee episodes then from Tom Baker through Sylvester McCoy I watched it all the time. When the new series started I have been hooked again..

`As much as I love David Tennant as the doctor, I think Matt Smith just edges it for me. He seems to fit the mad man in a blue box profile better. In my opinion anyway.

Tennant is definitely my favorite, though they've all been great, 1-present but as newer doctors go, let's just give some kudos to Eccleston for being the absolute perfect transition between the old and new (in my opinion anywho)

I was introduced to Doctor Who a long time ago by some friends, but it wasn't until the 2005 revival that I became immersed in Doctor Who. I've been rewatching that from series one on Netflix, and started watching classic Doctor Who recently.
Great stuff :)

`Tennant is the best Doctor, but I think Matt Smith's biggest problem is Moffet--a bigger splash is not always better, especially in the Whoniverse. Tom Baker with a lot of really unexciting episodes was awesome, but Colin Baker is almost unwatchable despite all the complicated storylines with the Valeyard and the Rani and everything.
Really, it's all about the Doctor.
And I absolutely agree--Eccleston was fantastic!

`I've only seen the new series, none of the old seasons... I'm going to be that one person whose favourite doctor was Christopher Eccleston, though Matt Smith is (was...) absolutely amazing as well. Let's see what happens next...

`Seriously, I think the very first doctor is one of the best. He may not be eye candy... but he was THE doctor. I am up to series 3 with the first doctor. I actually grew up on Doctor 5. (My brothers favorite). I saw all of 9, most of 10 but none of 11. I decided to start from the beginning (as much as I can considering how much the BBC destroyed).
There is just something completely awesome about the 1st doctor.

`I am excited for what peter and John Hurt will bring to the show. I think i would have personally preferred a female doctor but hey BBC only has ten actors to choose from.

`I'm gonna have to go with Eccleston. Matt Smith right behind him. I wasn't really interested when Tenant came in to it. Just didn't seem the same to me till Smith started up. I still watched almost all of the Tenant seasons though. All in all though Dr. Who still one of the best shows on TV.

`My now ex got me into Doctor Who. I really love Smith as the Doctor but they all bring their own magic to the character. I'm not a fan of Rose though, never have been, never will be. As sad as I am to see Smith go, I'm somewhat excited to see what Capaldi has to bring to the character. Also going to try to go to TimeGate Con in Atlanta, GA in November. :3 I REALLY want to go to that and cosplay as a fem eleven.

`I don't know if I could choose! They are all different sides of the Doctor.
I do like what Moffat said though...
"Eccleston was a tiger and Tennant was, well, Tigger. Smith is an uncoordinated housecat who pretends that he meant to do that after falling off a piece of furniture."
Quite frankly, I think if I were to choose it would be Matt Smith. I adore the quirky behavior. :)
